He that winneth souls is wise. Don't give Satan Ammunition (the bible describes Satan as “the accuser of the brethren”.)

Be thoughtful with people and their questions. The apostle Paul "reasoned, taught, tried to persuade, testified, encouraged and strenghened." Acts 17:2, 17; 18:4-5, 11, 19, 23. He did not expect quick immediate responses from everyone. As long as people would hear him he gave them time. When they openly rejected the gospel then he moved on. He reasoned daily from one place in Ephesus for two years so that everyone in the area heard the word. Acts 19:8, 9, 10. The result of this consistent public witness was the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily. Acts 19:20. His witnessing was filled with love and concern for his hearers. Acts 20:31. He shared the whole counsel of God: the heavy convicting truth about the law, sin, rightousness, self-control, judgment to come and the good news of Christ crucified and resurrected. His one goal was that his hearers would experience repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:20-21, 26-27, 31. His own actions demonstrated a transformed holy life empowered by the Holy Spirit and full of God's love. His hands were the hands of a servant, ever ready to work so he could minister to the needs of those about him. Acts 20:34.

You are an ambassador for Christ. If you lack wisdom and discretion you will be a discredit to the gospel. Jn 13:35. Jesus was called a "friend of publicans and sinners" and yet he never compromised truth for the sake of mens approval. He spoke the truth, but he spoke the truth in love. Prov 11:30. Study the life of Jesus and you see he was patient with lost blind sinners but hard on critical proud pharisees. Phil 4:5; Mt 10:16; Mk 12:37. Learn how to bless persecutors and overcome evil with good.

Avoid words, attitudes and actions that feed Satan's false accusations to your hearers that you are a proud, haughty, 'holier than thou' hypocrite. Rom 12:14-15,16-17,18, 20-21; 2 Tim 2:15-16. Reason with people but make sure you speak the truth in love with gentleness and respect for your hearers. 1 Pet 3:15,16. Make sure you never come across as bitter, angry or quarrelsome. You should be tenderhearted and forgiving. Eph 4:31, 32. James 1:20.

Be gentle toward opposers. They are captives in the darkness and snare of the devil. Have faith that God can bring them to repentance and lead them to a knowledge of the truth and save them. 2 Tim 2:23-24, 25-26; Eph 4:29, 30. Remember it is not God's will that any perish but that every person would come to repentance. 2 Pet 3:9. The harvest truly can be plentiful but there are few effective laborers. Pray. Mt 9:36, 37.

Seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness. May the God of peace sanctify you in every way so that his grace makes you a reflection of Jesus Christ. 1 Thes 5:22-24. Never do offensive things to try to stir people up. Be such a respresentation of the life of Christ that people give glory to God because of his presence in you. 1 Cor 10:31-33; 1 Cor 9:19-20, 21, 22; Prov 15:1-2. Your witness should expemplify the wisdom from above. God's ways are the opposite of Satan's ways. James 3:17-18.

The more we walk in the Spirit, the more Satan's strongholds on people are destroyed. 2 Cor 10:3-4, 5; Gal 5:22-23; Rom 13:10. A Godly witness is not focused on winning arguments and bringing God's judgement on the lost. Lk 9:53, 54-55. Focus on bringing people to true repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ. Love the lost and labor that Christ may be formed in them. 1 Tim 6:20; John 3:17; 12:46, 47; 13:34, 35; Gal 4:19.

If you do not speak the truth in love your words are but sounding brass, and a tinkling cymbal. Without love your labors are nothing. 1 Cor 13:1, 2, 3, 4-5, 6-7, 13. Be an example of forgiveness to anyone who treats you with disrespect. Lk 23:34.

Consistently go out with your Prayer Stand and allow the life of Christ to breath through your words, attitudes, and actions as you share the word and pray with people. You will see God answer prayer and use your witness to break down the gates of hell and bring people to repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ. Acts 6:10; 7:59. Go out in faith, depend on the Holy Spirit to work in and through you. God loves to use weak frail humanity to bring people to salvation. John 14:26; 15:26; 16:7,8-9, 10, 13-14. Abide in Christ and you will bring forth much fruit! John 15:4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11.
